The Prandina Story
Since 1982, Prandina has been at the forefront of contemporary interior lighting design. Thanks to Mario Mengotti, who served as Prandina's Technical Creative Manager from 1987-2004, the Italian company's line has been strongly influenced by the simplicity of Nordic design.
The role was then taken over by the Ufficio Tecnico Prandina, which helps select and design products as well as oversee the technical direction today. Prandina lighting also works with over 12 international designers to create their contemporary line.
Why We Love Prandina Lighting
There's a pure aesthetic to Prandina lighting, showcasing their strong roots in understated functional Nordic design. While composed with a sense of high fashion, modern light fixtures by Prandina are still very approachable. The handmade blown glass shades have rounded edges and smooth contours while the fabric shades are available in attractive colors. There are also a few arty pieces that make a statement without overwhelming a room.
