Founded in 2023 in New York City by industrial designer Chevy Chanpaiboonrat, Buddy began as a personal exploration of how design shapes atmosphere and emotion.

Design Philosophy & Emotional Resonance

At its core, Buddy believes thoughtful design can create calm, connection, and joy in everyday rituals. The lamps act as companions—playful yet soothing—encouraging tactile interaction over app-driven complexity. Turning a key, twisting light: each motion slows time and invites intentionality.

Materials & Experience

The construction is simple—smooth matte plastics, USB-C charging, portable and wireless—but the effect is profound. Each lamp offers 8 soft, science-backed gradients (from Warm White and Soft White to Sunset, Velvet Dream, and Lilac Sky) plus 3 brightness levels to support focus, relaxation, or winding down. With up to 10 hours of battery life, Buddy moves with you—from desk to nightstand to quiet journaling corner.
