The RBW Story
RBW was established in Manhattan in 2007 as an experimental design studio and international product design consultant. The company's name is derived from those of the three founding members (and former classmates at Rhode Island School of Design): Theo Richardson, Charles Brill, and Alexander Williams. Their designs of modern furniture, home accessories and contemporary lighting are widely published in premier magazines worldwide. They've been honored with numerous awards including ICFF's Best New Designer in 2011.

RBW takes what already exists and re-imagines it, turning it into something altogether new and exciting. The resulting products are distinctive, yet familiar, sophisticated yet good-humored. It is this overall aesthetic that has made RBW so successful in their product design contributions to such notable companies as Innermost, Areaware and Roll & Hill as well as their own self-branded designs. Since 2019, RBW has been B Corp certified, meaning they meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
A Fun Fact About RBW
Design apparently runs in the family. Theo Richardson's sister is interior designer Sarah Richardson who has gained fame on Canadian television as well as in the US on HGTV's "Sarah's House."
Noteworthy Lighting from RBW
The Delta lighting collection was inspired by propulsion systems and rooftop vents. This inspiration becomes more obvious when considering the gear-like ribbed portions of the fabric shades in the collection. Look to the Delta II Pendant for the kitchen or dining room or make a statement in the entryway with the Delta V Pendant. Finally, the Palindrome collection is sculptural elegance at its finest, with intricate designs that combine industrial aesthetics and geometric looks.
