The SLAMP Story
Roberto Ziliani started Slamp in Italy in 1994 and immediately established it as an Italian design company to be reckoned with. Ziliani's iconic Slamp Tube standing lamp "gave life" to future collections, and with the help of designer Nigel Coates' architectural design background, Slamp lighting has won several awards and produced some of the company's most popular contemporary lighting fixtures to date. Coates has acted as Slamp's Art Director since 2006.
Why We Love SLAMP Lighting
Slamp lighting experiments with great textures, designing modern chandeliers and contemporary lighting fixtures that almost invade spaces (in the best sense possible). Their fixtures, mainly made of high quality plastics, take the form of well-recognized shapes. The Fiorella, the Ginetta and the Cactus collections, for example, are whimsical reinterpretations of familiar shapes, giving those objects fresh presence and personality. Many of the pieces also offer splashes of color, not too bright but definitely powerful.
Fun Facts About SLAMP
The Woody Floor Lamp is the only fixture that dabbles in non-plastic materials, seen in its wood base and hinted at in its wood-printed polycarbonate shade.
Noteworthy Lighting from SLAMP
The Clizia Suspension is a beautiful, geometrically patterned pendant that is composed of Opaflex squares resembling cut sea glass. It's an inspiring fixture perfect for dining rooms, kitchens and entryways. Clizia is also available as a table lamp, floor lamp and wall light. And find true Slamp design in the luxurious Ginetta Chandelier, available in black, gold, silver and white finishes. Finally, for a decorative portable fixture you'll want to show off, check out the Veli Table Lamp.
