The CTO Lighting Story

CTO Lighting is a London-based brand that was first launched in 1997 by Chris and Clare Turner. Embodying both quality and luxury, Chris and Clare combined their material, technical and industry knowledge as an engineer and fashion designer, respectively, to become the ideal creative team for envisioning their contemporary line of lighting. In 2016, CTO Lighting celebrated nearly 20 years in business and opened its first store in London, England. With its new showroom and collaborations with leading designers, CTO Lighting has established itself as a leading producer of fine lighting designs.

CTO Lighting’s designs exhibit a thoughtful method of production in regards to materials and workmanship by the British artisans that create them. They use high-quality materials such as hand-finished metals, mouth-blown glass and handcrafted stone work. Each product family has its own story to tell, yet can manifest in many different shapes and sizes while still feeling comprehensive and unique.

Fun Facts About CTO Lighting

CTO Lighting is also known for their bespoke lighting fixtures. Since 1998, CTO Lighting has been requested to produce lighting fixtures for Harrods, Rosewood Hotels and designers like Philippe Starck and Kelly Hoppen.

The Array Mini Cotton Chandelier is a fine display of asymmetry, aiming direct and diffused light in multiple directions with individual metal arms. The overall shape is hardly uniform—each adjustable arm is bent at a different location to make beauty out of variation. The shades are lined with a shiny interior, reflecting light in both open directions with a touch of metallic warmth.
