Origins & Creative Foundation
MORPHO was created through a collaboration with Tomorrowland, the global creative universe best known for its immersive festival environments. Drawing on more than two decades of Tomorrowland’s storytelling and world-building, MORPHO extends this creative vision into permanent objects designed for the home.
Design is led by Great Library Design Studio, the long-standing creative partnership between Tomorrowland and Dieter Vander Velpen Architects, responsible for translating narrative, architecture, and atmosphere into tangible form.
Design Movement & Aesthetic
Rooted in Art Nouveau, MORPHO embraces flowing lines, natural symmetry, and decorative craftsmanship while reinterpreting them through a contemporary lens. The collection draws heavily from nature-based geometry, including insect wings, roots, branches, and organic patterns, resulting in furniture that feels sculptural, expressive, and timeless.
Materials, Craftsmanship & Production
MORPHO furniture is crafted in collaboration with Ethnicraft, a Belgian furniture maker with nearly three decades of experience in solid wood craftsmanship. Produced in Ethnicraft’s workshops, the collection combines solid wood, metal, natural stone, leather, textiles, and outdoor-ready materials, blending traditional techniques with modern production.
The brand emphasizes durability and longevity—designing pieces meant to age gracefully and be lived with over time.
Storytelling & Cultural Inspiration
At the heart of the collection is The Spirit of Life, a narrative centered on a dragonfly named Morpho, whose iridescent wings inspire the collection’s flowing silhouettes and intricate detailing. This storytelling approach reflects Tomorrowland’s cultural legacy of immersive design and transforms fleeting festival magic into enduring form.
Core Products & Designers
The MORPHO collection includes dining tables, dining chairs, bar stools, lounge chairs, loungers, and daybeds, many designed for both indoor and outdoor use. These pieces are unified by organic structure, layered materials, and sculptural presence.
Design direction comes from Great Library Design Studio, with production expertise provided by Ethnicraft’s artisan teams.
Why We Curate MORPHO
At Lumens, we chose MORPHO for its rare combination of storytelling, craftsmanship, and expressive design. The collection bridges the worlds of art, architecture, and furniture—offering pieces that feel distinctive, intentional, and rooted in a larger creative narrative.
