Johnson Art Studio
The Johnson Art Studio Story
College graduate Roy Johnson began a project in 1979 in Santa Cruz that would become a well-known studio for creating craftsman-like contemporary lighting fixtures. Today Johnson Art Studio is located in the historic town of Watsonville, California, surrounded by inspiration that reflects the heart of his work.
The Johnson Art Studio is made up of less than 20 employees, holding true to the family feel and personalized attention to detail of each of their products.
Why We Love Johnson Art Studio Lighting
Johnson Art Studio produces indoor and outdoor light fixtures with a modern cottage feel, great for Craftsman, rustic or transitional architecture. Their copper fixtures have a natural patina over time, giving them an antiqued look. The company completely hand-builds everything, from the bending, fusing, forging and casting of metal to sandblasting the glass and doing all the woodworking, giving each fixture an authentic handmade look and feel. They even use some vintage machinery to reproduce the right look. They do custom work as well, accommodating both large and small projects.
