Like something you might see in an old Viking dining hall, the Iittala Ultima Thule Set of 2 Goblets is hefty and frothy. Here, however, the icy froth is a design element of the glass itself, a dewy, dripping pattern created as molten glass burns its way through a wooden mold. Designed by Tapio Wirkkala.

From humble beginnings as a small glass factory, today Iittala offers a wide variety of modern Scandinavian housewares that demonstrate the company's commitment to design quality and product longevity. Based in Helsinki, Finland, Iittala continues to make cookware, tableware and other home accessories that are both lovely and useful, based primarily on the forward-thinking philosophies of design icons Kaj Franck and Alvar Aalto.
