A solid, eco-friendly take on the 1930s bentwood café chair. The On & On Barstool from Emeco isn’t just designed to go on and on as a built-to-last construction but also as a stylishly enduring silhouette. The piece represents designers E. Barber and J. Osgerby’s push for creating pieces that harness today’s cutting-edge materials. Newly developed at the Emeco labs, recycled PET plastic is called on in this piece for its sustainability, lightweight properties, and immense strength. This plastic is shaped beautifully into a trim frame you can easily lift with your hand. Supported by a molded crossbar, a low-profile circular seat rest brings you the classic comfort and aesthetic of the 30s café chair. When not in use, this piece is as charming to look at as it stacks elegantly in a circular formation.
First lets make things that last. Thats been the Emeco motto ever since their first aluminum Navy Chair came off the assembly line in 1944. Based in Hanover, Pennsylvania, Emeco is focused on making recycling passe by making furniture that will last forever and never go out of style. Collaborations with designers like Philippe Starck, Frank Gehry, Ettore Sottsass and Norman Foster have contributed greatly to that vision.
