Key Features
In its sweeping folds of red paper, the Ingo Maurer Kokoro Floor Lamp evokes passion, rage, lust, movement. This dynamic lighting sculpture was created by Maurer and textile designer Dagmar Mombach in 1998 as part of their MaMo Nouchies collection, displaying both paper and light in new and exciting ways. The name comes from the Japanese word for "heart," and describes the shape of the reflector mounted on the stem.
For more than 40 years Ingo Maurer has created somewhat irreverent and thought-provoking designs in a method that is more exo-modern than contemporary. These experimentalist collections enliven fashion runways, monuments and private homes, giving Ingo Maurer lighting a name that resounds in the minds of the design-forward.
