The Chanpen Round Table Lamp by Forestier is a sophisticated piece from industrial designer Anon Paitot that was inspired and named after his mother, whose name means full moon. Featuring a handmade spherical shade that is woven from abaca, a natural textile fiber from banana trees, this lamp casts a welcoming layer of light through the geometrical, woven pattern along its surface, honoring his interest in sustainable materials. This glowing orb is supported by an articulated arm and a beautiful marble base for a poetic design that brings a bright touch to its environment.
Grounded in a passionate reverence for the ceaseless beauty of the natural world, it was a mesmerizing appreciation for the ornamental aspects of French gardens that provided the tipping point for Bernard Forestier to found his namesake company in 1992. Remaining true to those original aesthetics -- proportionality, balance, juxtaposing clean and curvy lines -- Forestier continues to move forward, employing new material mediums and pushing stylistic boundaries while continuing to advance the core disciplines upon which the company was built.
