Key Features
True beauty achieved with soft and feminine aesthetics. Husband-and-wife design duo Karen Gilbert and Paul Pavlak set out to create tender pieces that speak to a refined setting, the Veer Pendant from SkLO is one of those examples, seemingly floating in the air in softly lit shape. It’s a functional piece of art reflecting Gilbert’s artist charm as a craft artist. The slender down rod suspension and angular structure are confident in their crisp lines. Delicate double-dipped glass globes pop before the eyes like airy bubbles. Each globe is blown, shaped, and kissed at the mouth with fire by master artisans in the Czech Republic. While a delight even when turned off, with a flip of the switch, this piece transforms with graphic imagery into lighter than life globes of ambient light.
SkLO is a collaborative design company founded by Pavel Hanousek, Karen Gilbert, and Paul Pavlak. Based out of Healdsburg, CA, the design team collaborates with master glassmakers in the Czech Republic. SkLO glass is built to order, artisans skillfully hand-blow glass for each of the lighting fixtures and objects in the collection. As such each piece is unique, and slight variation is welcome, emphasizing the beauty of the handmade process with every design.
