Whimsically composed in color and composition, the Tanager is part of the Toikka Bird series by Oiva Toikka (1931-2019), and he is considered one of the greatest names in Finnish design. His iconic work began in 1972 and has taken flight ever since. Each piece is unique as it is mouth-blown and handcrafted.

From humble beginnings as a small glass factory, today Iittala offers a wide variety of modern Scandinavian housewares that demonstrate the company's commitment to design quality and product longevity. Based in Helsinki, Finland, Iittala continues to make cookware, tableware and other home accessories that are both lovely and useful, based primarily on the forward-thinking philosophies of design icons Kaj Franck and Alvar Aalto.
