Key Features
A highly adjustable design created to empower your creativity. With the Multi-Lite Table Lamp from GUBI, designer Louis Weisdorf shows his lighting approach of giving the user a say in the resulting glow. This focus on the needs of the user stems from Weisdorf’s time studying under the iconic Poul Henningsen. Both designers share the idea that light should be covered to please the eyes and eliminate glare. This sentiment showing in the multi-stage shade construction of this design. Its bulb rests at the core, covered by an artful composition of cylindrical forms. Light moves out in stages, meeting the curved surface of two quarter sphere shades. The shades rotate up and down to create a symmetrical or asymmetric look, resulting in a directed or spacious ambient glow. The ring frame and slender support structure underline the simple elegance of the design and the use of repetition.
In 2001, Jacob and Sebastian Gubi took over their parent’s furniture business, transforming GUBI in to an internationally recognized design house for lighting, furniture, and accessories. Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, GUBI is a purveyor of timeless and emerging designs, many of which are iconic and can be found in permanent collections around the world.
