Key Features
Striking in a cascading design like a grand waterfall. Designed in 1967, the Minigiogali PL CA3 Flushmount from Vistosi is a beautiful composition of linked, hand-shaped glass, giving the familiar shade a sculptural note. For designer Angelo Mangiarotti, a piece’s materials and production process were sources of great exploration. Here, the free-forming qualities of glass are showcased. One by one, glass artists transform Murano glass ribbons into charming hooks underlined by their elegant curves. The hooks slot into each other and rest over a ring frame in a tiered silhouette. The gradual, cascading silhouette of the piece and its textured surface quality come through as a spacious light filter through.
One of Italy’s most prestigious and prolific names in Murano glassmaking, Vistosi specializes in hand-blown glass lighting fixtures with an expertise that can be traced to the 1500s. Officially incorporated as Vetreria Vistosi in 1989 with the Moretti family, Vistosi continues to invest in new technologies and methods of production compatible with the historical craft, resulting in an extensive collection of highly decorative yet durable lighting designs.
