Key Features
The Eclisse Bedside Table Lamp from Artemide is a classic 1967 design by Vico Magistretti, and it features a friendly, rounded, and petite form made entirely of glossy painted steel. This avant-garde product balances between form, function, design, and utility. The name translates to “eclipse,” and the design’s foundation comes from your ability to adjust the intensity of the light by rotating an inner shade that covers—eclipses—the light source within. A fixed outer shade works with the moveable inner shell to provide direct or diffused light. “Sputtering” is the most environmentally-friendly way of coating the type of metal used by eliminating the emissions, particularly those used by galvanizing. Additionally, the solid paint only has up to 5% solvents—as opposed to the 75% of most products—which generates very little waste and creates a resilient, long-lasting finish, making this one eco-friendly product.
Since 1959, Artemide has created a wide array of modern table lamps, floor lamps, wall sconces and suspensions. Technologically advanced, and with styles ranging from clean and refined to sculptural and avant garde, many Artemide designs--especially the Tolomeo and Tizio--have become icons of contemporary lighting design.
