Two brass screws hold a thin brass base and stem to the ceiling, while the gently-sloped bowl of the aluminum dome shade sweeps upward around the dual-socket mount. This positioning creates a sole uplight that pleasantly illuminates the area around the shade while creating a soft, ambient pool of light on the ceiling.
