The Bamboo Pendant by Forestier is a fun and festive piece that brings handcrafted warmth to décor. Designed by Israeli artist Arik Levy, this fixture is constructed from slender bands of bamboo that are softly curved into a drum-shaped shade. Reminiscent of an outdoor lantern, the bamboo surrounds a cylindrical woven diffuser at its center. The outer shade is hand-painted at its upper end to add a pop of color, while its inner lamping permeates its bamboo cage to brighten a room with its soft glow.
Grounded in a passionate reverence for the ceaseless beauty of the natural world, it was a mesmerizing appreciation for the ornamental aspects of French gardens that provided the tipping point for Bernard Forestier to found his namesake company in 1992. Remaining true to those original aesthetics -- proportionality, balance, juxtaposing clean and curvy lines -- Forestier continues to move forward, employing new material mediums and pushing stylistic boundaries while continuing to advance the core disciplines upon which the company was built.
