The ET2 Lighting Story
ET2 Contemporary Lighting was established in 2004 by Jacob Sperling as a contemporary lighting complement to the more traditional offerings of its parent company, Maxim Lighting International. Based in City of Industry in California (alongside Maxim), ET2 was a success from the very beginning, tapping into the need for artful, intriguing--and cost effective--modern lighting for the home and hospitality.
Each year, new collections continue to build on ET2's reputation for exciting yet accessible contemporary lighting design.
Why We Love ET2 Lighting
A quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson encompasses the design philosophy behind ET2 Lighting: "Love of beauty is taste. The creation of beauty is art." Each ET2 fixture is conceived as a piece of fine art, with perfect balance of form, function and aesthetics. The modern chandeliers, pendants and other fixtures that comprise the ET2 line meet any variety of modern tastes, from ultramodern and metallic fixtures to sparkling contemporary crystal to clean and natural.
A Fun Fact About ET2 Lighting
One of the most eye-catching ET2 designs was inspired by a legendary tragedy. The Inca collection evokes the Inca "tears of the sun," tons of gold and silver offered to Pizarro to save the life of the Inca king, Atahualpa. But Pizarro betrayed the Inca. Atahualpa was killed and the treasure vanished, believed by some to still be buried somewhere in the Andes. ET2 is part of the Maxim Group Companies, which also includes Maxim Lighting and Studio M.
Noteworthy Lighting by ET2 Lighting
The sparkle of the Inca collection and the Starburst collection (especially the pendant clusters) is nearly blinding. The numerous natural materials and clean lines of the Elements collection will appeal to the environmentally minded lighting lover.
