Creator Catellani & Smith’s goal for each piece is to give its light shape. The studio’s extensive studies on fiberglass let them arrive at a shape that impressed with strength and versatility. This pendant achieves a globe silhouette out of a pair of separated domes. Each dome is hand-molded to produce a detail-rich surface and a strikingly tactile edge. Suspended with a fine down rod, lamping inside peeks through the tight opening of the shade. The piece turns on to glaze the shades with a golden hue while producing an ambient aura.
