Key Features
An enchanting example of primitive shapes contrasted with clean-surfaced metalwork. The Pilar Double Alabaster Pendant from Rosie Li Studio draws its inspiration from the architectural appeal of Brancusi’s Endless Columns and leverages Li’s background in drawing and design. A circle canopy and stem in stately solid brass extend downward, threading strong lamping through two ceramic dishes with earthen glazes. An alabaster sphere sweeps around the lamping below, offering a final touch of refinement while transforming bright glare into a warm glow.
After completing a bachelor’s degree in furniture at the Rhode Island School of Design, Rosie Li teamed up with engineer Philip Watkins in 2015 to form Rosie Li Studio. Based out of Brooklyn, NY, the duo embarks on designing geometrically sophisticated lighting and living products that are manufactured and finished by hand. Combining Li’s background in furniture design and Watkin’s expertise in mathematics, there is a strong sense of spatial understanding apparent in each of their lighting and living designs.
