Piero Castiglioni

Pietro Maria Castiglioni, known as Piero, is an Italian lighting designer based in Milan, Italy. A graduate of architecture in 1970, Piero first started under his father, Livio, in Via Presolana 5, a studio-laboratory bought by the family in the 1950s and co-owned by himself and his father from 1973 until his father’s death in 1979. He has collaborated on private residences, museums, galleries, theatres, gardens, monuments and many more projects. Dedicated to lighting design, Castiglioni designs for FontanaArte and teaches at the University of Geneva, the Domus Academy and the Polytechnic of Milan.
