The Louis Poulsen Story
Key Features
A series of logarithmic spirals form the Louis Poulsen Patera Pendant, a glowing orb of dimensional light inspired by patterns found in nature and mathematics. The angle of each strip of lightweight PVC material is proportionate to the Fibonacci sequence of numbers—also known as the golden ratio—which was deliberately chosen by designer Oivind Slaatto as a creative way to eliminate glare. This application also makes the light appear more natural and less manufactured to the viewer, conveying a comforting ambiance to interior spaces. PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN OPEN BOX RETURN ITEM. PRODUCT IS IN NEW CONDITION. ALL OPEN BOX SALES ARE FINAL. QUANTITIES LIMITED TO STOCK ON HAND.
When you hear the name Louis Poulsen, you think distinctive modern Danish lighting. From the classic icons of the 1920s to more recent pieces, all Louis Poulsen lighting is created based on a deep-felt respect for architecture, understanding the emotional effect of lighting and the belief that shadow is just as aesthetically important as light. All three aspects manifest themselves in the sculptural layering and comfortable, glare-free light of Louis Poulsen pendants, wall, table and floor lamps.
