I sent this lamp back. It wasn't clear in the description that this lamp is only operable by remote. And that remote ceased to work properly immediately. Also, the bulb displays many different colors, which was also not clear. In trying to get it back to a soft white (and away from the green, blue and purple tones), the remote stopped working. The only reason I give it 2 stars instead of 1 is that the lamp itself (when on a white light) is quite attractive. I'm not even a luddite, but I just want a switch on the lamp I can turn off and on.

I loved how the lamp looked on the website, including the color of the wood. So I bought it for my home office, but was surprised that the wood came unfinished and unstained, and felt a little rough. My wife, bless her, ran to the hardware store picked up some sandpaper, the perfect stain, and then stained and sealed it while I was at work. Looks beautiful, my clients have repeatedly commented on how nice it looks. The other odd thing is that it can only be turned on and off with the remote control--so keep it somewhere safe. But it was a fun surprise that the lamp can change colors--pretty much any color with varying shades of brightness, and warmth or coolness. Now that I'm used to it, and it's stained, I really like it.
