Make a marvelous addition to interiors with the expansive, segmented, and multilayered Mociun Coffee Table by Iacoli. A team project Caitlin Mociun and Jamie Iacoli, it’s inspired by mid-century French designs and handmade in the USA, relying on a braced, robust structure of slender powder-coated steel to support a series of tabletop sections held at different heights. A circular top and curved accent are held on a lower level, offering additional storage, while a larger rectangular section offers a broad surface for prominently displaying items.
Iacoli and McAllister make nice things. Very nice things. The pair take a reductive approach to design, toying with the balance of positive and negative spatiality while adhering to a core set of design principles that frame their collective process - proportion, scale, color and fabrication. Coupled with the duo's constant exploration of material mediums and various industrial processes, their seamlessly attuned sensibilities infuse the studio's work with a clean and chromatic Donald Judd-like minimalism.
