A marvelous marriage of robust industrial character with sculptural sensibilities, it relies on the slender, strong wires of a fail-safe suspension to support a diagonally offset series of extruded aluminum light housings. Each one is shaped like an I-beam, placing its structural strength on full display while seating an integrated LED in a downward-facing bay above a long strip of acrylic that moderates direct glare.
A take-off on the three design partners' names (Theo Richardson, Charles Brill and Alexander Williams), RBW is a team that can stand to do a little bragging (although they never would). Established in 2007, Rich Brilliant Willing has achieved amazingly swift and widespread success with their modern lighting, furniture and home accessory designs.
