Key Features
The Hampton Wall Sconce by Original BTC enchants its surroundings with the whispers of old adventures. A complex fixture inspired by the lighting on naval vessels, it uses a metal wall plate and arm to hold a single damp-listed socket out from its mounting surface. The entire piece is handmade in the UK in the old ceramic factory region of Stoke-on-Trent, with a bone china anchor for the artisan-blown shade of opal glass that surrounds the lamping, creating creates a warm ambiance around it. The time-intensive process creates unique pieces, unlike homogenous mold-made glass, with slight variations and a one-of-a-kind look.
Founded in 1990 by Peter Bowles, Original BTC is a lighting company rooted in national pride, manufacturing classic and industrial British design for contemporary homes. Encouraging local enterprise, all products are exclusively produced in the UK, utilizing factories in Oxford, Birmingham and Stoke-on-Trent to hand-produce and assemble the fine bone china, aluminum and lighting components used in Original BTC fixtures. In 2010, Bowles acquired Davey Lighting (a heritage brand founded in 1885 as a maritime lighting supplier) enriching the brand with industrial-grade designs and traditional craftsmanship.
