Founded in 1997 by lead in-house designer Eloy Puig, El Torrent is a manufacturer of handmade lighting designs in the Girona province of northeastern Spain. Located in the foothills of the Pyrenees, the rural landscape is a picturesque confluence of culture and natural splendor, constantly inspiring the designers to explore new materials and innovative solutions.

Directly inspired by the natural surroundings, El Torrent produces handmade lighting designs in their small workshop in Mieres, Girona. The production space and number of designers offers an intimate setting for creating high-quality products, whether they be simple or elaborate in execution. Between the colors used or unique combination of the over 70 materials in their collection, each piece can range from decorative to functional—all with the goal of creating customized lighting for the home or workspace.
El Torrent’s small production site began and still resides in Mieres, a small medieval town in the Catalonian region of Spain that has a population of less than 500.
The El Torrent Slim Pendant is overtly functional in design, featuring an ultra-thin shade wrapped around a matte White polycarbonate diffuser. Fully enclosed for optimal light spread below, two specialty materials in Vinyl and Leather are specifically chosen to contrast with the smoothness of the bottom diffuser. The textural banding is subtle and unobtrusive to the pure down light provided, making the Slim a stylish alternative for residential or work spaces that require it.
