Such is the case for the Catalyst Chandelier by Modern Forms, which provides a unique display of tripodic Polished Nickels frames that are capped at each end by mouth-blown, free-formed, artisan glass shades. Never mind the organic, almost cellular lighting effect this piece has against a nearby wall or ceiling, courtesy of a series of integrated LEDs.
Founded in 2013 by parent-brand WAC Lighting, Modern Forms takes a cutting-edge, eco-friendly approach to luminaires and fans. Each product features the most efficient LED technology available, while fans specifically run on a sensor-less, silent DC motor that’s controlled by an exclusive smartphone app. The materials used – including seeded crystals, Piastra glass, 24K gold leaf, and cast metals – are blended together by expert craftsmen who draw inspiration from the iconic minimalism of Mid-Century and Scandinavian design.
