The Carpyen Story
Carpyen is a contemporary lighting company founded by Antonio Carpintero and Encarnación Celdrán in Barcelona, Spain, in 1954. In 1972, Robero Carpintero joined the company, bringing along with him the industrial contemporary-minded designers of Pascual Salvador and Gabriel Teixido. Why We Love Carpyen Lighting
Carpyen showcases the best in European lighting design. Its international stable of designers allows Carpyen to explore local trends and reinterpret them to give them global appeal. Most of all, Carpyen proves that lighting can be both smart and approachable at the same time. The balanced design of their products reveals a mindset of the importance of lighting that's balanced in general. To that end, these days Carpyen holds clinics that discuss lighting issues of the day, such as the importance of using LEDs in equilibrium with other sources.
A Fun Fact About Carpyen
The company's name is a portmanteau taken from the names of the two initial founders, Carpintero and Encarnación: Carp y (and) En. Carpyen Spanish lighting fixtures are distributed in the United States through Tango Lighting.
