Key Features
Tone-setting like a popped bottle of bubbly, the Bubbly 06 Pendant from Rosie Li Studio excites while off or on in a clustered design inspired by soap bubbles and the botryoidal hematite mineral. Ditching traditional design cues, Rosie Li Studio creates science, math, and nature-infused pieces out of pared-down forms. The globe shape unites this piece, starting with a clustered brass body that visually appears ready to burst. The different sizes of the globes seduce with a sense of depth. Bright lamping pairs with handblown glass all around to create a warmth-filled atmosphere. The light accentuates the piece’s light-hearted silhouette.
After completing a bachelor’s degree in furniture at the Rhode Island School of Design, Rosie Li teamed up with engineer Philip Watkins in 2015 to form Rosie Li Studio. Based out of Brooklyn, NY, the duo embarks on designing geometrically sophisticated lighting and living products that are manufactured and finished by hand. Combining Li’s background in furniture design and Watkin’s expertise in mathematics, there is a strong sense of spatial understanding apparent in each of their lighting and living designs.
