Key Features
The Bubbly 04 Chandelier from Rosie Li Studio raises the spirits of the room with a weightless silhouette referencing the airy bubble and the slow-building shapes of the botryoidal hematite mineral. Creator Rosie Li Studio ditches traditional design motives for an approach built on science, math, nature, and pared-down forms. Here, the globe serves as the building block. Artisans craft these familiar globes in brass at varying scales to get the eyes moving all around. The brass globes stretch far, making the piece ideal for the communal setting. Handblown glass shades add radiant focal points while on. The light gives the brass display a pleasant golden hue.
After completing a bachelor’s degree in furniture at the Rhode Island School of Design, Rosie Li teamed up with engineer Philip Watkins in 2015 to form Rosie Li Studio. Based out of Brooklyn, NY, the duo embarks on designing geometrically sophisticated lighting and living products that are manufactured and finished by hand. Combining Li’s background in furniture design and Watkin’s expertise in mathematics, there is a strong sense of spatial understanding apparent in each of their lighting and living designs.
