Key Features
Brilliant and filled with alluring detail. Translating to “bubble” in Italian, the Bolle SP LED Pendant from Vistosi earns its name with a combination of evocative surface details and an encompassing globe silhouette. The pendant’s focus on a single material underscores designer Barbara Maggiolo’s love of glass and its atmospheric qualities. The pendant uses a fine cord to lead the eyes in a straight line to the diffuser. This compact form proves ideal as part of a series. The glass globe diffuser is mouthblown by glass artists. Its surface detail invites one closer as fine rounded details display all over. The details are achieved with a baloton technique requiring the artists to treat the glass with inserted air bubbles. The highlight-wrapped bubbly surface helps diffuse light into an accenting down glow.
One of Italy’s most prestigious and prolific names in Murano glassmaking, Vistosi specializes in hand-blown glass lighting fixtures with an expertise that can be traced to the 1500s. Officially incorporated as Vetreria Vistosi in 1989 with the Moretti family, Vistosi continues to invest in new technologies and methods of production compatible with the historical craft, resulting in an extensive collection of highly decorative yet durable lighting designs.
