Upon their introduction in 1952, the Nelson™ Bubble Lamps® by Herman Miller® were an exciting collection of lamps that proposed a new kind of material application, using a soft plastic originally made for the U.S. military. The Nelson Ball Criss Cross Bubble Pendant is made of this material, which is vigorously spray-coated around a steel wire frame to make the round shape. The slightly visible wire frame is integral to the design, which ultimately creates soft ambient light once lit. PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN OPEN BOX RETURN ITEM. PRODUCT IS IN NEW CONDITION. ALL OPEN BOX SALES ARE FINAL. QUANTITIES LIMITED TO STOCK ON HAND.
In 1945, George Nelson™ became the first design director for Herman Miller®, and, as they say, the rest is history. This legendary collaboration would establish Herman Miller as the premier manufacturer of home and office furniture for the modern American landscape. Today, the company continues to focus on lighting and furnishings with excellent form and function.
