The Loll Designs Story
Loll Designs outdoor furniture came about in 2003 as a way to repurpose all the ramp material that was left over from the construction of municipal skate parks. It took three years of prototyping and fine-tuning to successfully produce their first line, the Adirondack collection.
Since then, Loll Designs has expanded into a wide range of modern outdoor chairs, tables, benches, planters and other accessories, made mostly out of recycled plastic. To this day, all Loll outdoor products are designed and made in their facility in Duluth, Minnesota.
Why We Love Loll Furniture
Loll furniture designs have all the good looks of wood, but are made out of 100% recycled materials that will last much longer. The bulk of Loll products are recycled high density polyethylene (HDPE), coming primarily from recycled milk jugs. The HDPE is processed into thick and smooth sheets, making it exceedingly durable and virtually maintenance free when made into furniture. Pigments are added while the sheets are being extruded, creating uniform, fade-resistant color throughout. Any brass inserts or stainless steel fasteners used are also recycled.
A Fun Fact About Loll Designs
It takes 8 recycled milk jugs to produce one pound of weight of a Loll chair (or other furniture piece). Since 2005, Loll has recycled more than 18 million milk jugs, and counting.
