The Papier Table Lamp from Jamie Young Co. is shaped like a mushroom, with a domed cap resting on a tapered stem that flares slightly where the two meet. Hand-applied papier-mâché covers every visible surface in layers, giving it a soft, irregular texture that looks almost like stone. An artisan-built metal frame provides strength, while the dome shade gently diffuses light and a felt lining finishes the underside of the base.

Jamie Young Co.

In 1997, Jamie Young Jeter and her husband David Jeter took a day trip to Mexico and returned with a car full of flower pots. After selling the lot to a local florist, they realized the market for unique garden pots was wide open and began to produce them. As they tinkered with designs, they realized the pots would make interesting lamp bases, and the Jamie Young Company was born.
