Just like a Penguin’s rhythmic waddle, the The Penguin Upholstered Seat Rocking Chair from Audo Copenhagen, formerly known as Menu, inspires a relaxing trance with its smooth movement and charming silhouette. The iconic chair, a creation from Danish designer Ib Kofod-Larsen, represents smooth mid-century modern design ruled by clean and sculptural lines. Its form insists on attention with the sweeping curves of the base, ascending as a slender steel framework set slightly back to provide a gentle, leaning position while seated. Speaking of seats, the upholstered seat material is soft, yet supportive, while the vibrant woodgrain on the seat back provides a natural texture, accompanied by an encompassing backrest, evoking a penguin’s flippers to cradle the body in comfort.
