While you can thoroughly enjoy the Run Round Café Table from Emeco by yourself, it’s a piece inspired by the memorable, shared experiences often had with public furniture. Design duo Sam Hecht & Kim Colin approach this piece and the rest of their work with the idea that great functionality lends to true beauty. You can see this approach at work in the clear silhouette of the legs and top. The aluminum legs anchor the visuals with a sleek surface that lifts the textured surface of the top. The top pays homage to park benches with an elegant and functional split design. Made in sustainably sourced wood, the top brings an inviting sense of familiarity in its organic hues and grain.

Emeco

Electrical Machine and Equipment Company (Emeco) was founded in 1944 by Wilton Carlyle Dinges in Hanover, Pennsylvania. Dinges' first assignment came from no other than the U.S. government, to manufacture a strong yet lightweight chair that could withstand water, salt air and rowdy sailors. The result was the iconic Emeco Navy Chair, made enitrely out of durable machined aluminum.
