A good-looking, slim, simple flushmount

We were going for a contemporary look in our house, and we like bright light. We also wanted it to accept traditional Edison-base bulbs, since LED emitters continue to improve rapidly, and we were not ready to commit to a luminaire with a specific kind of LED hardwired. It was surprisingly hard to find a ceiling light that was unobtrusive, had good capacity for lightbulbs, and did not stick out too much from the ceiling. This series of fixtures satisfies our requirements pretty well. In the photo, you see two 10" lights (M334), and one 12" light in the center (M338). The only thing i wish were better was that the ceiling-mounted, metal piece of the fixture is about 1" tall. If it were 0.5", it would be effectively invisible. As it is, it still shows up a bit. However, it does not clash with our white ceiling, so it's not a big detriment. Also, in terms of ceiling-to-fixture-bottom height, this is one of the slimmest light on the market that is capable of taking traditional bulbs. The frosted glass looks excellent during the day, by the way -- a sort of pearlescent translucence. If need be, you can retrofit the incandescent lights with GU-24 sockets. The Edison base fitting snaps out, and can be replaced with the other kind -- search for "Snap-in GU24 Socket", they run ~$2 a piece.
