Magical!
I had this pendant in my bedroom, in the 31" size, for several years until selling the apartment. Ceilings were 11' tall and this lamp cast the most amazing shadows around the whole room, making it dreamy and forest-like. It floated above the room like a magical orb. The room itself is was only 12x10 so the effect was quite dramatic. I am now planning to purchase it again for a living room in a country house next to a creek, surrounded by trees that has a cathedral ceiling. that room is 9'x13' in the cathedral part where this will hang and floorplan is open and part of much larger open dining & kitchen space. I'm hoping the effect will be to make the cathedral space mysterious as you approach it and wonder what is casting the shadows.
Nightmare
When it comes time to change a bulb on this lamp you will either spend three hours studying how to re-open the permanently-closed cage or you will contemplate more severe measures. It might all be worth it if it actually cast any good light, but the lattice cuts out so much that you end up with a harsh hint of dappled light in the room. A candle would provide more lumens.
Love it.
I've coveted these for years.
