The Balsam Table Lamp from Jamie Young Co. stretches into a tall, rounded capsule, its smooth sides easing in at the shoulder and foot. Handmade from ceramic, the body is coated in a reactive glaze using a midcentury technique, and the speckled shading that develops in the kiln gives each lamp its own pattern. Lifted on a clear acrylic disc and crowned with a matching spherical finial, it wears a tapered, rolled-edge drum shade.

Jamie Young Co.

In 1997, Jamie Young Jeter and her husband David Jeter took a day trip to Mexico and returned with a car full of flower pots. After selling the lot to a local florist, they realized the market for unique garden pots was wide open and began to produce them. As they tinkered with designs, they realized the pots would make interesting lamp bases, and the Jamie Young Company was born.
