The Za Bar Stool by Emeco is a design from Naoto Fukasaws intended to be kept, cherished, and passed on for generations. Its name means “a place to sit” in Japanese, and this handcrafted, recycled aluminum stool does just that with its softly rounded seat and simple legs. Using recycled aluminum saves 95% of the energy that would be required to make this material new, making this design a smart environmental choice. Easy to clean and care for, the non-bacterial properties of this piece make it ideal for busy environments and can be used indoors or out.

Emeco

Electrical Machine and Equipment Company (Emeco) was founded in 1944 by Wilton Carlyle Dinges in Hanover, Pennsylvania. Dinges' first assignment came from no other than the U.S. government, to manufacture a strong yet lightweight chair that could withstand water, salt air and rowdy sailors. The result was the iconic Emeco Navy Chair, made enitrely out of durable machined aluminum.
