The Vertebrae Table Lamp from Jamie Young Co. stacks three rounded sections with circular cutouts above a slim base and beneath a wide tapered shade. The stacked body segments are made of resin with a hand-applied plaster finish and evoke a stylized set of vertebrae, while the base, central axis, and finial are rich brass and contrast well with the linen-covered, rolled-edge shade. The small circular openings break up the solid column and remain visible from several angles. Light spreads through the shade and across the segmented body without filling the open spaces between sections.

Jamie Young Co.

In 1997, Jamie Young Jeter and her husband David Jeter took a day trip to Mexico and returned with a car full of flower pots. After selling the lot to a local florist, they realized the market for unique garden pots was wide open and began to produce them. As they tinkered with designs, they realized the pots would make interesting lamp bases, and the Jamie Young Company was born.
