Ruspa Table Lamp

Instead of taking like its excavator inspiration, the Ruspa Table Lamp from Martinelli Luce gives, but does so with fascinating mechanics polished with designer Gae Aulenti's sculptural sense. Though designed in 1968, the piece is truly forward-thinking and futuristic. Its adjustable arm stands atop a spherical base, catching the eye with its laser-sharp, yet curved edges. Like an excavator's bucket, its reflector is extruded with an opening that is divided into swiveling halves, making a range of dynamic lighting arrangements a possibility.
