A clever contemporary design from the mind of Joe Colombo, this small lamp is produced in Italy and uses a sleek disc base and slender stem to suspend adjustable lamping placed inside an adjustable cup shade. The smooth, cylindrical shade can be moved up and down the stem and reduces direct brightness from the sides, creating a pool of downlight ideal for task use, while the upper end of the shade features a thin line deliberately cut across its rounded, otherwise closed top that broadcasts a playful, memorable wash of ambiance around the fixture.
