The support bar on each side to which the rubber mounts bolt to has never been redesigned despite the chair being prone to metal fatigue where the bar connects to the rod-web. Customers have had to have these areas welded after use. Simply, increase the diameter of the rods locally and make the support bar wider to spread out the load.

The chair and ottoman are wonderful pieces of design and are very comfortable. One thing I really appreciate is that the back comes up high enough to rest your head. We have an Eames lounge and its obvious that Ray & Charles didn't account for people 6' tall. The ottoman is a nice addition. I've never sat in one with an ottoman prior to my delivery. It makes the lounge experience. One thing I was a bit dissatisfied with was its assembly. I was not present when the chair was delivered, so I'm not sure if it was a factory issue or the delivery company. After two days a fasteners came loose. I reinstalled the one and re-torqued the others (all very loose). It's been fine since. Buon Natale, Scott R
