Made in Denmark

Inspired by the functional prowess of Shaker furniture, the BM1771 Outdoor Dining Table from Carl Hansen stands the test of time with robust materials in a neat, foldable design. Creator Børge Mogensen’s human-centered design approach lends to this piece’s easy-to-read construction. A trim set of legs provide stability with angled segments that allow the piece to fold for easy storage. The tabletop guides the eye across it with a graphic slatted design. While arresting visually, this slatted design lets spills or rainwater to pass through for easy maintenance. The table’s wood construction develops a patina over time, showing its strength and maturity.

Carl Hansen

In 1908, Carl Hansen founded his Danish furniture company based on the premise that high-quality craftsmanship and efficient mass production could work well together. And he was right. With an efficient mode of production in place, the company really hit its stride once it started collaborating with a relatively unknown Danish architect, Hans J. Wegner, in the late 1940s (through the 1960s). The Danish Modern designs conceived by Wegner have proven so consistently popular that Carl Hansen & Son continues to make them today.
