Comments about Berenice Large Table Lamp

#sweepstakes An excellent classic lamp - Berenice, delivered promptly and at a good price from Lumens. Many other retailers did not even have it in stock or at a much higher price.

Great lamp, misleading bulb info

Bought a pair of these to replace an old bedside Tizio set. Loved the design from the first time I saw it, years ago. Design works well, seems made well enough, am happy with them both. Both lamps were packed well and arrived in good condition. Price was right, and it was an easy buying experience. Two things should be mentioned, however. First, the weight in the base was loose in both lamps. This isn't anything that affects the operation, and maybe some people wouldn't notice it, but a bit disappointing. Not Lumens fault. My impression is that the factory packaging may allow some direct shocks to that part during shipping. Or could have been loose at the factory, no way to tell. Not difficult to fix, but they did need 'tuning'. I'm a fabricator so I fixed them myself. The second, bigger issue: these lamps came with bulbs in the packaging. This after the site tell you that bulbs must be purchased separately (and are not returnable). Now I have four extra bulbs at ten bucks apiece... spares are good, but come on- maybe the bulb-not-included thing is common with most lamps they sell, but this felt like a bait-and-switch. Considering the unit cost here, the extra 20 (or 40) bucks seems like a bit of a gouge...

I first bought one of these lamps 20 years ago when I was moving into a dormitory and needed a good study lamp. I have since purchased two more. The lamp is very flexible and provides perfect lighting however and wherever you need it over a large desk surface. I strongly suggest considering this product.

Luceplan

Established in 1978 by architects Riccardo Sarfatti, Paolo Rizzatto and Sandra Severi, Luceplan defined its goal of democratic quality design, free of stylistic clichés and opulence, from the very onset. This approach--soon acknowledged by the market and numerous international awards--was perfected when Alberto Meda, an engineer with a passionate love for design, joined the team in 1984.
