Title 24 Compliant Lighting
Generally speaking, Title 24 is the section of the California Code of Regulations that govern residential and commercial construction. One of the key components of Title 24 centers on maximizing the energy efficiency of the lighting installed in homes and commercial spaces, both new and remodeled. Title 24 compliant lighting fixtures meet lighting energy efficiency standards in Title 24--including specifications for energy use, lamping and light bulb type and more.
Why Title 24 Lighting?
As awareness of the role that energy usage and greenhouse gases play on the environment has increased in late 20th and early 21st centuries, Title 24 requirements have been changed to reflect this push toward conservation. These rules take a holistic view on lighting efficiency, and compliance with Title 24 is not based on one specific light fixture, but on the overall space that the lighting fixture is in and the energy efficiency and lamping of all the lighting in that space.
Another great way to be energy efficient and leave less of a footprint on the ecosystem is to use LED lighting. Ceiling lights, wall lights, lamps and outdoor lighting all benefit from the use of an LED light source. Consider adding LED fixtures from Modern Forms, Tech Lighting or Hinkley Lighting for a contemporary, energy-efficient style indoors and out.
