Bright, colorful, and inspiring like the nature-rich pacific island. Designed by Ettore Sottsass, the Tahiti Table Lamp from Memphis Milano treats the room to fun energy and clean, tailored light. Sottsass’ work sees the balance between one’s functional needs and the idea of communicating excitement as well as sensuality. The piece plants itself on the table with a gripping textural pattern. The metal piece continues upward with delicately balanced shapes in contrasting colors. A circular mechanism above facilitates the smooth adjustability of the lamp on the side. This lamp turns on to shoot out a clean, directed light.
Founded in 1980, Memphis Milano, also known as Memphis Group, was a collective of designers founded by Ettore Sottsass. Operating until 1988, Memphis Milano focused on postmodern design with furniture that was often colorful, abstract and featured asymmetrical shapes.
